200 years after Alanna the Lioness became the first female knight and King Jonathan, along with his Queen, Thayet changed Tortall forever, chaos is stirring once more. The Immortals are no longer caged in the prison the Divine Realms provide, and are slowly leaking through the veil into the human world. Though Tortall is stronger than ever with its many allies, it also has Carthak once more thirsting for revenge. Though Emperor Kaddar signed a peace treaty with Tortall many years ago after Veralidaine, the Wild Mage killed his uncle and he took the throne, the new emperor has no regard for things of the past. Now that Carthak is once more strong and mighty, no longer suffering from droughts, he is taking up his many times great-uncle's ambitions to conquer Tortall. With Tyra, Scanra, Sarain, who he promised grain and gold to, and many of the invading Immortals at his back, he prepares his country for war.

The Great Gods, not interested in seeing mortals clash once again decided to do something before hand this time, and not leave it all up to Carthak's patron, the Graveyard Hag. After a large debate, it was decided that The Great Mother Goddess, Mithros, and The Black God would create three beings that were mortals, but with the power of their 'parent' god at their command. They taught their creations the best that they could, and then sent them deep into the wilderness of a great desert where none dared to tread, to live until the day arrived that their services were needed. Now, 20 years later, with Tortall on the brink of war, Carthak's allies all around and a few reluctant one of their own, the three God's creations answer their parent's callings and enter the world.

Tortall
Corus
[ ]Palace
Surrounded by walls 20 ft high and 5 men across the gem of Corus plays home to visiting nobles, Knights, Pages and Squires. The palace is where the monarchs of Tortall live and where those that will protect the realm in the upcoming years learn their trade.
00
[ ]Practice Court
The cause of Tortall's mighty army. Without the practice courts to keep them in shape, Tortall's armies would be full of fat soldiers and knights who would prefer going home and eating their wife's food. Squires and Pages also learn different forms of combat here.
00
[ ]Stables
Home to all the horses of the palace along with the grooms that take care of them, the stables are one of the larger buildings on the palace grounds. Pages, Squires, Knights, the King's Own and the Queen's Riders all keep their horses here.
00
[ ]The Market
Where most of Corus' citizens stay and make their living, it is home to one of Tortall's larger markets, only bested by Port Caynn. There are quite a few nice bars and inns to stay in for travelers, including the Dancing Dove, a favorite hang out for the Court of The Rougue.
00
Other Places
[ ]Fiefs
Despite the brave words that all leaving home utter, many go home to visit now and again if even just to check up on how things are running. For others though, the tidings may not be so good.

[ ]The Convent
For those on the path to become Ladies or Sorcerers, this is the place where the first years of their path are spent.
00
[ ]Mithran Cloisters
A large group of buildings where young men who want to become sorcerers go after spending two years at the convent.
00
[ ]Borderlands
Though a good bit of Tortall is bordered by the sea, there are also borders to protect from greedy neightbors, especially now that war is on the horizon.
00
Outside Tortall
The Enemies
[ ]Carthak
The bane of Tortall's existence now and during the Immortals War, this is the center of the opposing force. A slave holding country and an outrageously rich one, Carthak is a force to be reckonned with.
00
[ ]Sarain
A country with poverty stretching for a few centuries now, Sarain fights for Carthak in return for grain and supplies. Sarain stretches from Maren to the Roof of The World.
00
[ ]Scanra
Home to what are often referred to as 'barbaric northerners,' Scanra would be a force to be reckonned with should all the bickering tribes be pulled together into one force.
00
[ ]Tyra
A small country that borders the Inland Sea, Tortall, Maren, and Tusaine. With the promise of bountiful trade from Carthak, they have turned against Tortall, and now act as a docking place for the enemy's large navy.
00
The Allies
[ ]Galla
A mountainous country with harsh winters that shares borders with Tortall, Scanra, Maren, Tusaine, and Sarain. Its capitol, Cria, is a big trading city and a host to the mountain ponies that the Queen's Riders ride.
00
[ ]Maren
A country that is bountiful in grain. It shares borders with Sarain, Tusaine, and Tyra. During war, it is a needed supplier.
00
[ ]The Yamani Islands
Northwest of Tortall and near the Copper Isles, a mighty empire with a unique culture sits. Ever since Keladry of Mindelan's mother saved a sacred sword from being stolen by pirates, they've been Tortall's steadfast allies.
00
[ ]Tusaine
A mighty country that many refer to as barbaric. It shares borders with Tortall, Maren, Tyra and Galla. Peace between Tortall and Tusaine is tenuous since it was forced when Prince Jonathan captured two of the three ruling brothers.
00
[ ]The Copper Isles
Though the Copper Isles were once Tortall's enemies, after Alianna of Pirate's Swoop; Lady Alanna's daughter helped to replace the crazed rulers with a half-raka Queen, they became Tortall's allies, and have been ever since.
00
Other Realms
[ ]Divine Realms
Home to the Great, Minor, and Animal Gods, along with many immortals, it is a beautiful place to those that know how to travel through it safely. One can only get there on major festivals, such as Midwinter, the Summer Solstice, and Beltane.
00
[ ]Dragon Realms
Once closed to all creatures but the mighty dragons, this fiery place is now open for those who are crafty enough to get there. Dragonback and by Stormwing are the safest and quickest routes.
